THE STORY
There are moments when we can feel disconnected — from ourselves, from others, or from life around us.
This work explores how that feeling can begin to soften.
The horizontal line divides the composition into two parts. Up close, the forms appear separate: fragments, contrasts and distinct colours.
But as you step back, another image emerges. The shapes begin to reveal two continuous halves of the same circles, flowing through both parts of the work.
Nothing has changed. Nothing has been added or removed.
Only the perspective has shifted.
A reminder that sometimes, what feels separate is still part of something whole — and that connection can be felt more clearly when we create a little distance.
THE COLOURS & TEXTURES
The lower section is built from stronger contrasts between light and dark, with heavily textured matte surfaces that absorb light.
The fragmented colours and rougher textures reflect moments when we are immersed in our thoughts, routines and daily movement — when we are close to the surface of experience and have little space to pause and reflect.
Above the horizontal line, the colours move closer together. Layers of blue begin to overlap and soften the boundaries between the forms.
A glossy surface reflects light, introducing a sense of clarity and awareness.
Together, the textures and finishes express a gradual shift — from experiencing separation to sensing the harmony that was already there.

MATERIALS: Painted wood combining textured and smooth surfaces (matte paint with added sand, satin and high gloss finishes)
FRAME: Meranti wood
HANGING SYSTEM: Each work comes ready to hang, with a metal sawtooth hanger securely attached to the back.You only need to place a screw in the wall. The small notches allow you to shift the work slightly, making it easy to hang it perfectly level.
