Return Policy
RETURNS & REFUND POLICY
Last updated: September 2026
1. Right of Withdrawal
If you are a consumer purchasing an artwork online from You Are, you generally have the legal right to withdraw from your purchase within 14 calendar days without giving a reason.
The withdrawal period normally begins on the day you receive the artwork.
To exercise your right of withdrawal, contact us before the end of the 14-day period:
You may simply send us a clear statement that you wish to withdraw from the purchase. You may also use the model withdrawal form included in our General Terms and Conditions.
2. Returning an Artwork
After notifying us that you wish to withdraw, you must return the artwork without undue delay and normally within 14 days.
Return address:
Werkplaats4 CommV / You Are
Pothoekstraat 144
2060 Antwerp
Belgium
Unless otherwise agreed or required by law, the direct cost of returning the artwork is your responsibility.
We recommend using a tracked and insured shipping service and keeping proof of postage until your refund has been completed.
Please package the artwork carefully so that it is adequately protected during transport.
3. Condition of Returned Artwork
You may handle and inspect the artwork to the extent necessary to establish its nature, characteristics and functioning.
If the artwork is handled beyond what is reasonably necessary for such inspection and this results in a decrease in value, you may be liable for that depreciation to the extent permitted by law.
4. Refunds
Once you validly withdraw from the purchase, we will refund the payments received from you, including the cost of standard delivery to you where required by law.
If you selected a more expensive delivery option than the least expensive standard delivery offered by us, the additional cost of that upgrade will not be reimbursed.
We may wait with the refund until we have received the returned artwork or until you provide evidence that it has been sent back, whichever occurs first, unless applicable law provides otherwise.
Refunds are normally made using the same payment method used for the original purchase.
5. Handmade Artworks
Our artworks are handmade, but this does not in itself remove the statutory right of withdrawal.
The artworks sold by You Are are not personalised or made according to individual customer specifications.
Accordingly, the fact that an artwork is handmade does not by itself constitute an exception to the statutory withdrawal right.
6. Sale Items
Discounted or sale artworks are subject to the same statutory consumer rights as other products.
A discount does not remove the applicable right of withdrawal or the legal guarantee.
7. Damaged or Defective Artwork
If your artwork arrives damaged or you believe that it does not conform to the purchase agreement, please contact us as soon as possible at:
Please include your order number and, where possible, clear photographs showing the packaging and the artwork.
This procedure helps us investigate the issue with the carrier or otherwise determine the appropriate solution.
Your statutory legal guarantee rights remain unaffected.
8. Legal Guarantee
New goods purchased by consumers are covered by the applicable two-year statutory legal guarantee of conformity under Belgian law.
The legal guarantee is separate from the voluntary right of withdrawal.
If you have a complaint concerning conformity or a defect, contact us at info@youare.studio.
9. Gifts
If an artwork was purchased as a gift, the statutory withdrawal right and refund are normally exercised by the person who placed the order and entered into the purchase agreement.
If you are shipping an item over €100, you should consider using a trackable shipping service or purchasing shipping insurance. We don’t guarantee that we will receive your returned item.
